Elen síla lúmenn' omentielvo.
Welcome! I'm sure you must be wondering what this blog is all about.
To put it simply, this blog was made to host a 365 project. For those who don't know, the notion behind a 365 project is that someone takes one picture a day for a whole year and uploads it onto the internet. It's a fun project, to be sure, but it can be harder than it initially seems.
That's where our part of the story comes in. All of the contributors to this blog like the idea of doing a 365 project, but are unable to make a hard-and-fast commitment to a full 365 days of picture taking. So, we decided to join forces and split the responsibilities. Two of us are assigned to each day of the week, which means that we have a much more manageable commitment of 52 pictures in 2011. It also means that you, noble readers, get twice the content (we hope)! Even better: since we're connected through the magic of the interwebz, the pictures posted here aren't going to be centered in one location but will be from various and sundry locales, especially when we go on vacations!
So who are we? We all met on the forums of TheOneRing.com, a website dedicated to the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien. Meaning we are all, to greater or lesser extents, Middle-earth enthusiasts. You may have already guessed that. Apart from that, as the year unfolds we'll all be learning more about the lives of those contributing to the project.
So sit back and enjoy the ride!
