34/365 Rehearsing

We had a concert today, and that means we also had a lot of rehearsals in the past week.
I took this pic at a dress rehearsal, because I liked how the cellists had put their cases up in the front, making them look like a bunch of people, lining up there and having a conversation. :D

34/365 Fire & Ice

 

As you may know, we have had some severe weather in our area so I haven't been out & about much.. but I did catch a shot of some ice hanging off of our roof which I thought was rather lovely when the sun hit it. It reminds me of a poem.. or a watercolor.. 

This particular icicle was about 5 feet long.

33/365: The Fab Four and More

Most of you know that I am a Beatles fan-atic, right by my desk I have photos up of (from right to left) George Harrison, an early photo of the Beatles and the far left is a photo of 1964: A Beatles Tribute Band. They sent me a signed picture after I met them last year.  Too bad the one who looks like John got washed by the flash on the camera, he is the one that looks the most like the character he portrays.

I got to hear the Beatles outside of the Las Vegas Convention Center in 1965.  Silly mother thought that we could go there and get tickets the night they played.  I didn't hear any music, but I sure heard a lot of screaming until we decided to go.

Two years ago for my birthday my brother, as a surprise, drove me to Vancouver BC to see 1964: A Beatles Tribute Band.  They are exceptional.  If you haven't seen them and they come to your area, be sure to go.  If you squint your eyes, they look very much like the real deal and they sound almost exactly like them.  It is a night of great fun, loads of singing with the audience and group and laughs.

The picture that is in the center top is of me and my X in a band we used to have called "Class Action".  That picture was taken at an Elks Hall in Bluefield, West Virginia many moons ago now.  We were a variety band and we billed ourselves as playing everything from Metalica to My Girl.  I played keyboards and guitar and sang about 1/3 of the songs.  It was great fun most of the time, the rest it was a whole bunch of work.

He retrieved and preserved the Ozette artifacts of the Makah civilization enabling posterity to better know and understand the rich Indian heritage of this area. He was given the Makah name of:

"HA TU BA DI"

The building behind it is the terminal for the Port Orchard Foot Ferry. It runs between PO and Bremerton. If you look real close you can see the Seattle Ferry at the Bremerton Dock.

32/365 - Candid Girl

A close-up of my little girl Shadow as she naps.  Pictures like this would have been impossible to get a few  years ago, but her senses aren't as keen as they used to be.  It's a shame, and just another sign of her age (about 12-13 years), but she really is just the sweetest little angel when she's asleep.  Almost as sweet, in fact, as when she's awake.

31/365 - Morning Has Broken

I got the Hipstamatic app for my iPhone, and love the images that it produces.  It's meant to recollect the pictures produced by Instamatic cameras on square 126 film back in the days when only professionals used 35mm film and 'digital' referred to alarm clocks and not much else.

This is a self-portrait taken in bed, first thing in the morning as the light started to stream in my window.  I love the ragged frame effect, and you can expect to see more of it this year.
