109/366...A Birdseye View....

Silverdale

A view from the top.... Well, not quite the top, but close enough.

Silverdale used to be just farmland. A little spit of a town with horses and cows as a main business. Then the military moved in and a mall sprang up.

Now the horses and cows, for the most part, have disappeared.

Sort of makes me sad.

  1. Calma.. I grew up in an area that was mostly farm fields and had very rapid expansion. Within a period of 10 years it went from extremely rural to huge malls and a couple of moderate sized sky scrapers and tons of hotels/fast food places. It's really sad when that happens.

  2. It is sad to see the sprawl of growth when it overshadows the beauty of nature and the countryside of Washington State. I know there are those who claim there is plenty of land about but it is shortly not going to be easy to find. I love the fields, valleys, mountains and forests of our area. I am afraid that soon they will also be a thing of the past and all too soon if we don't do something to stop it!
