93/365 - A closer look at one of the fields
This is one of the many Daffodil fields in bloom at this time in the Skagit valley. As the flowers start to fade they will top them off and continue to let the bulbs grow for a short time longer and then dig them up for sales of daffodil bulbs around the world. We are the second largest Daffodil and Tulip bulb industry in the world. It seems a man from Holland moved here and found this area perfect for growing these wonderful bulbs in the rich soils of the Skagit Valley. So now this tradition of raising the bulbs, sharing the short blooming season with visitors and then shipping the bulbs all around the world to brighten gardens every where started in the 50's, I believe. We are second only to Holland.

I didn't know that about your area producing the bulbs - so cool! A pretty industry to have around for a change. :D
