12/366 Needlework

The cross-stitch piece I'm currently working on. It's an 'Adoration of the Magi', so I only work at it around Christmas time. Of course, before Christmas, there's usually loads of other needlework things to do, for pressies, so I basically only work at this from after Christmas to Candlemas. This is the third year I've been working on it, and as you can see, so far there's a bit of the garments of one of the Kings. I daresay it'll be a few years more before it's finished. ;)
But I like the colours, and thought they might make a good photo. :) (Or rather, they would've if the light had been more interesting. ;) )

(I had some potentially nice pics from a walk on Sunday on my phone, and had been looking forward to sharing pics from my phone for the first time, but I find they weren't saved on the little SD-card, but on the camera memory, and I haven't yet been able to figure out how to get them out of there...*sigh*)

  1. My mother tried to teach me how to do that sort of thing. I just never had the patience to do it. Same with knitting and crocheting.

Kudos to you for being able to do this.
It's really pretty. Can't wait to see the finished product.

  2. I don't know how to knit or crochet either, but I have done a few needlework projects. Lots of work, but definitely rewarding once they are finished. I hope you find time to finish it in the not-too-distant future Monika. Maybe keep it with you in a bag and whenever you have to wait for something take it out & work on it a bit. The colors are lovely.

And I hear you about the frustration of taking photos with your cell phone. I don't think I can get mine off of my camera either. :(
