100/366 Castles, wine and chocolate

Say you have a chunk of money, a chunk of land in one of the most beautiful valleys in the world, and a love of castles. What do you do with it?

This.

You build a faithful copy of a Tuscan castle, surrounded by vineyards, and then open your toy to all comers for wine tasting, tours, and general admiration.

You put in a moat, ramparts and loopholes, a dungeon and a torture chamber. And you fill it with pretty and fascinating things.

This is the kind of thing that gives the rich a good name.

  3. Frelga, we saw that place when we were at Sterling winery in Napa.. I wanted to go there, but we ran out of time. Maybe someday.. I've seen a TV program about it.. simply amazing what one can do with a dream (and lots of cash!)
