A couple of days later we had a heavy rain almost all day. This young eagle sat in the tree when the rain stopped to dry out his feathers. He sat there for hours just airing his wings and preening his tail feathers. He looked like he was covered in mud when he turned and bent his head but I am beginning to believe that it is he is nearing maturity and so some of his feathers are in the process of turning white. He is beautiful either way!
