307/365 Walk by the River

Tuesday was a public holiday here, and it was beautifully sunny. That called for another walk, of course. This time, we went to the southern outskirts of Cologne for a walk by the river. There are several houseboat-restaurants on that part of the riverside, and this is the most colourful (and also oldest and best-known) one. You can see the city-centre in the background.

As this was the start of our walk, we passed by the temptations of drinks/snacks on this boat (made easier by the fact that most of the outdoor seating area was in the shade), and also, with more difficulties, of the next one. But when (after, I should add to our defence, being also besieged by lunch-y scents from the restaurants you find to your right when you walk there) we saw a third coming up, I said, "ok, if they have waffles, like the previous ones, we'll go!" Well, they did, and so we went, and an excellent decision it turned out to be, too. :D We basked in the sun with lots of nice views around us for a good half-hour before even beginning our walk properly. :D

I like how the colours turned out in this photo, that's why I picked it even though we didn't go on the boat.

  2. Cologne must be a really fun place to live. So much to see and do it seems. :D

Great photo, I wouldn't have passed up the waffles either. :D
