On our drive back from seeing the doctor on Thursday we found along the route these beautiful fall colors, the sun was shining and just turning them up bright so I snapped a few shots. The bright yellows are Big Leaf Maples and Ryan says they are pretty much just in our area here in the Pacific Northwest. He admits he could be wrong but that was his impression. Either way they were sure pretty that day!!
We have had some strong winds since then so I bet a lot of the leaves have fallen off now.
I will have to get some photos along Chuckanut Drive on another trip up North cause it is along the Puget Sound and the colors are wonderful there too. As well as the views of the water.

Photos taken along I-5 headed south from Bellingham to Bow.
Beautiful colours! There also seems a lot of green left - lovely mix.
ReplyDeleteGreat fall colors you got there. :D I didn't know about the big leaf maple. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteLovely drive.

That's what's good about the NW, evergreen trees and trees with leaves that turn color.
ReplyDeletePretty shots.
