277/365 Biking for a cause…

This past weekend was the inaugural Chocolate Tour to raise money for local cancer research.  Since chocolate is made in Hershey (self-explanatory), Elizabethtown (M&M – Mars), and Lititz (Wilbur Chocolate), there were bike rides set up ranging from 5 to 65 miles.  There was also a local run/walk event, since not everyone is inclined to ride a bike on bumpy country roads when it is cold and windy and threatening rain…….
Anyhoo, I opted for the 30 mile loop that took us from Hershey to Etown and back.  I didn’t take many photos along the way because a) it was overcast, and b) the scenery was mainly cornfields and cows.
I did get a few interesting pics of ‘architecture’ however.
This first is the one wall left from an old stone barn.  You wonder how it managed to never fall down!!!

The second is also a barn, but it has a nice paint job:

Finally, at the end I took a photo of the Kissmobile:

Yes, you can actually drive it on roads.  Or somebody does.  There were lots of chocolate and other goodies to be had at this event.  Next year maybe I can be ready to do the 65 miles to Lititz and back!   The Wilber chocolate factory is there, and it is better quality than the other two.

  1. First, good on you for doing this charity ride for cancer research. Second, I love your photos. The old stone wall is in its way beautiful. The pained barn is very cool and I always liked the "mobiles" from companies that have them, like the Oscar Meyer one. *toot toot*

    Good luck for next year.

    Neat pictures, too.

Love the barn with the horse painted on it.
