286/365 A Blissful respite

As many of you know, we have long cold winters in Wisconsin, and so this last week of lovely
weather has been a very welcome respite before the drudgery of the long dark winter sets in.
We took the opportunity to  visit our daughter at her University and then went for a short drive to a
resort town on the border between Wisconsin & Illinois.

Below is a photo sampling of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, on an unusually nice October day.
The restaurant where we ate. We had a lovely view of the lake.

A touch of whimsy
Children enjoying the beach.

  1. Lake Geneva!!!

    The birthplace of D&D.
Yes, the man who invented the game, Gary Gygax, lived there and there still is a major gaming convention there every year.

    Love the merry-go-round horse.

    Great photos, Rose!

  2. Oooooh all lovely shots there, Rosie. The lake is beautiful and I think the stained glass in the restaurant is lovely.

That book shop is incredible too. :D What a great day to spend out enjoying the lovely weather.
